Facilities:
When you drive into Ásgarður, there is an old house to your right, and to your left you continue past Nýpa 1 to 5 to the parking lot outside the main building. In the main building you find WC facilities, a restaurant with a liquor licence and sleeping accommodation for up to 28 people.

From the parking lot you can drive to the camping site on the banks of Ásgarðsá.
If you go past main building you find 5 houses, Herragarður, Breiðagerði, Brekkukot, Veisa and Gónhóll. In the valley beneath these houses there is a "bathhouse" with hot tubs and hot showers. Also a small diesel power station. During the summer all electricity is though produced by the hydroelectric Sælufossvirkjun owned by Fannborg.

In the valley there is a fenced area for those visiting Kerlingarfjöll on horses.

Leiðarlýsing / The route to KerlingarfjollThe route: From Kjalvegur, there is a road to Kerlingarfjöll crossing two streams. First there is Fossrófulækur, a small and harmless stream to cross. It is duly marked. Then comes Blákvísl, bigger but shallow with a steady bottom, holding no danger, but we recommend driving slowly across because the bottom is rather course. After that there are two rivers which have been bridged: Jökulfall and Ásgarðsá. When you have crossed Ásgarsá you drive up a steep hill and follow the road with the ravine of Ásgarðsá to your right. Soon you see to Ásgarður where our houses are.
